It started with playing a game to create Positivity and Inspiration. In 1999 I was designing and implementing a student services program at Santa Barbara City College and my desk was ALWAYS full of things that needed to be done yesterday. I wanted to do something so that I did not leave my office with the weighty feeling "it is never all done". I started sending out an e-mail message of inspiring or motivational quotes on a particular topic. I had loved quotes and always been an Optimist, so it was a natural thing to do. AND when I left the office I felt more confident, excited, alive. Six months after sending the newsletter I received my first negative comment. Sort of the "Boy aren't you cheery" type of bah humbug comment. I wrote back "Pessimists Beware! Because Positivity is coming through, and as a force." I liked the declaration that Optimism was present and powerful. I knew I had a name for what I was doing. A battle cry for my mission to spread Inspiration, Empowerment, Action & Optimism. For over a decade, I have researched the science of success and the vast benefits of being positive and Optimistic. This passion and simple Newsletter of inspiring quotes and good thoughts have evolved to create Let the ripple effect of Inspiration, Empowerment, Action & Optimism reverberate exponentially starting with you.
